New case of conflictive passengers on board a plane in Spanish airspace. According to air traffic controllers through their X account, a Turkish Airlines A321 has been diverted to Madrid for this reason.
The crew of the aircraft, which had left Lisbon for Istanbul, informed the controllers that they needed to divert to Barajas due to the aggressive attitude of two travelers, requiring police presence upon arrival.
“We provide them with continuous descent and direct approach with priority to runway 32L while the presence of police upon arrival is coordinated with the airport,” the controllers detail.
