Air Europa commissions to Aldama in full rescue

The president of Zamora and alleged representative of Air Europa in the meetings of the Ministry of Transport, Víctor de Aldama, received commissions from Globalia while he was negotiating the state rescue of Air Europa, at the height of the pandemic. (The Koldo network did business with Globalia)

According to El Confidencial, this is confirmed by the National Fraud Investigation Office (ONIF) and is included in the complaint filed by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office for the “Koldo case.” The Hidalgo company transferred money to MTM 180 Capital SL, the Luxembourg-based company that Aldama used to divert capital from the alleged irregular contracts in which Koldo García, right-hand man of former minister Ábalos, was also involved.

It can be seen that MTM went from not billing anything before Covid, to reaching 2.5 million in 2020 with only one person employed. Everything indicates that the plot continued in the following years, since, in 2021 and 2022, income was 1.2 million.

In these years, the central executive granted Globalia Broker Services SA eight contracts for the transport of medical supplies worth 6.5 million euros. Precisely, they coincided with the moment in which Air Europa requested the rescue of 475 million from the SEPI and 140 million from the ICO. Coincidentally, it was granted quickly and the role of Transport was key.

Globalia sources confirm to the aforementioned media that they did pay the company run by Aldama. They hired him to mediate in some projects of interest and paid him about 10,000 euros per month, something they do not consider irregular. Thus, they try to deny that these payments had any influence on the granting of state aid.

However, it must be remembered that Aldama had a very fluid relationship with Koldo García and Ábalos. They were present at numerous meetings and trips, and the president of Zamora received 6.7 million for the awarding of the management of masks to Management Solutions during the worst of the pandemic.

Likewise, Globalia acknowledges that it was subcontracted by the aforementioned mask company, charging 2.5 million euros for operating nine flights between China and Spain. In this case, he also sees no irregularity and assures that the deal was carried out at a normal market price.
