Binter launches sales in Madrid to compete with Ryanair and Iberia Express

Binter has launched a new commercial campaign to try to take share from Ryanair and Iberia Express in the Canary Islands-Madrid corridor. The airline has launched flights from 25.45 euros from Gran Canaria until June 17 to fly between September 1 and October 31 (Binter: this is how its fight with Ryanair and Iberia Express in Madrid is going).

On this occasion, it adds the novelty of a gourmet menu included during the flight. As is usual, the client must be a resident and purchase round-trip tickets. In addition, it makes it easier for travelers on national routes to link these flights with inter-island flights in the Canary Islands in the case of connecting flights.

With this new tariff offensive, the Canarian company advances in its plan to improve its capacity in the Spanish capital. As Preferente published, the first months left an average occupancy rate slightly higher than 60%, “in line with the objectives”, but its idea is that the figure will increase as it consolidates in Barajas (Binter’s ambitious growth plan in Madrid).

At the moment, it continues to operate 16 daily flights (112 weekly) from the airports of Tenerife North and Gran Canaria. However, its president, Rodolfo Núñez, announced a few months ago that “we will eventually reach La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.”
