Boeing addresses victims of 737 Max crashes

The CEO of Boeing, Dave Calhoun, has once again spoken out about the serious incidents involving the 737 Max model in recent years. On this occasion, he has addressed directly the victims and those affected by the Lion Air, Ethiopian and Alaska Airlines accidents (Boeing’s plan to wash the image of the 737 Max).

“I want to apologize personally, on behalf of everyone at Boeing. We are deeply sorry for your losses. Nothing is more important than the safety of the people who board our planes,” he says in statements reported by Europa Press.

Regarding the case of the Alaska plane door, he claims to be working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) so that something similar does not happen again. “We went further and thoroughly analyzed our quality and manufacturing systems.”

Likewise, it is carrying out an action plan with specific measures that improve security in all processes. It includes increased oversight, improved employee training and communication, and increased internal audits.

As published PreferentialCalhoun will leave the presidency and executive management of Boeing at the end of 2024, as will Stan Deal, head of the commercial aircraft division (Shocked at Boeing: its CEO announces his resignation in the midst of the crisis).

“It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve Boeing,” he stressed in a letter to employees after announcing his departure. “The eyes of the world are on us and I know we will come out of this moment a better company.”
