Delta earns 4,609 million, 3.3% less than before the pandemic

The American airline Delta Airlines won 4,609 million dollars during 2023, very close to the 4,767 million it registered before the pandemic (3.3% less) although it slightly cut its predictions for 2024.

2020 was the worst year in the airline’s history, with losses of $12,385 million in the midst of a global pandemic.

Recovery in 2023

The company had a turnover of $58,048 million last year, already above the $47,007 million in 2019.

In the last quarter of 2023, to which the markets paid the most attention this Friday, Delta had a net profit of 2,037 million dollars, well above the 1,099 it registered in the same quarter of 2019.

“2023 was a great year for Delta, with industry-leading operational and financial performance,” company CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement.

Expectations for 2024

All in all, the airline slightly reduced its revenue expectations for 2024, which it placed between $6 and $7 per share.

In a meeting with investors last year, Delta said its 2024 revenue estimates were above $7 per share.

After hearing the news, Delta shares fell more than 5.5% in electronic operations prior to the opening of Wall Street.

United Airlines It also fell almost 5% and American Airlines fell 4.6%.
