Ryanair will invest €5,000 million in Spain in the next seven years

Ryanair plans to invest 5 billion euros in Spain in the next seven years. A plan that aims to go from the current 55 million passengers to 77 million, increase the number of routes from 730 to more than a thousand in 2030, base 33 new aircraft and open five new bases.

This was detailed this Friday by the CEO of Ryanair, Michael O’Learyto the president of the Spanish GovernmentPedro Sánchez, in a meeting held at the Moncloa, which was also attended by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente.

At the meeting, both parties agreed to work on the reinforcement of regional airports. They consider that the promotion of this type of infrastructure, with an increase in air traffic, will boost territorial development and economic activity in the area.

The President of the Government highlighted that this investment represents support for the strengthening a key sector such as tourism, which at the end of 2023 was already pointing to record numbers. Furthermore, he pointed out the airline’s commitment to Spain is a reflection of the stability and potential of the Spanish economy and the confidence it generates in international markets and investors.

It should be remembered that, according to a study presented in April 2022, Ryanair’s operations have an impact of 14,000 million euros annually in our economy.
