Wamos Air comes to the rescue of Iberia and Air Europa

Wamos Air continues to move like a fish in water due to the lack of fleet of the large airline companies in Spain. The airline commanded by Enrique Saiz will make several of its Airbus A330s available to Iberia to operate flights between Madrid and New York (Wamos Air will put several A330s at the service of Iberia and Air Europa).

In a statement addressed to the agency channel to which he has had access Preferential, the IAG company details that it has contracted its services for “certain flights between June 7 and 14.” Specifically, Wamos Air will operate a total of 14 connections between Barajas and JFK airports.

Iberia clarifies that “the cabin on the plane that will fly the route is distributed in two classes, business and tourist, with a configuration very similar to that of our usual fleet.” “The gastronomic service, beverage offering and other products that we offer on board will be those of Iberia,” he adds.

As this newspaper revealed, Wamos Air has been taking charge of part of Iberia’s operations on the Madrid-Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) route for weeks.

At the same time, Air Europa has also had to turn to Wamos Air due to breakdowns in several of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners and the manufacturer’s delay in the delivery of a plane scheduled for this month of May.

The airline directed by Enrique Saiz will operate a total of 13 round-trip flights between Madrid and New York for Globalia. Likewise, Air Europa extended its agreement with Iberojet until June 23 to connect Madrid and Havana.

If everything goes as planned, Wamos Air, which has turned around its results in record time thanks to the radical change in its business model, will soon reach a fleet of 13 Airbus A330s, the same number it had before the pandemic. . Furthermore, its forecast is to reach 15 units in 2025, always of the same model (Wamos Air: “Our plan is to reach 15 aircraft very soon”).
