Changes in the presidency of Millennium Hospitality Real Estate

The socimi Millennium Hospitality Real Estate (MHRE) has announced changes to its presidency, following the resignation presented by Javier Illán“for having lost the confidence of the Board of Directors”. The position will be occupied by Luis Basagoiti, who has extensive experience in the real estate sector and was part of the Board of Directors as an independent director of the company.

According to what was reported to BME Growth, Javier Illán presented his resignation as president, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the Company for having lost the trust of the Board of Directors.

In this new stage, Luis Basagoiti He will be in charge of leading MHRE. The new president has a degree in Architecture from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (Polytechnic University of Madrid), specializing in Structures, and a Doctor in Architecture (Cum Laude) from the same University.

The new president has an MBA in International Business Management from the Autonomous University of Madrid and another in Construction and Real Estate Company Management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In addition, he is an “Ad Honorem” professor at the ETSAM (UPM) and was a researcher in light industrialized prefabrication.

During his extensive professional career, he has been, among other positions of responsibility, general director of Mapfre Inmuebles, general director of Metrovacesa and general director of Iberdrola Inmobiliaria

In his new position, Basagoiti will lead a company that has 13 hotel assets in its portfolio with a GAV value of more than 630 million euros, eight of which are in operation and five in conversion. Two of the hotels will open in 2024; The Hacienda San Roque y Zorrilla 19.
