Expansion plans for Amancio Ortega’s new hotel ally in Portugal

Spain will be the fourth country where the Portuguese group is presentafter opening the doors of its first resort in Cuba, Vila Galé Jardines del Reyin Cayo Paredón Grande, an all-inclusive resort with 638 rooms, four swimming pools and seven restaurants, in alliance with Seagull.

Besides of project in Isla Canela, where renovation works are being carried out In collaboration with Saint Croix HI, owner of the property, Vila Galé has others underway, both in Portugal and Brazil:

  • Vila Galé Collection Figueira da Foz (Portugal), which will reopen after a thorough renovation of rooms and common areas. It will have 102 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, an outdoor pool and Satsanga Spa & Wellness.
  • Vila Galé Collection Paço do Curutelo (Portugal), in which it will invest 20 million euros to rebuild a 1126 castle in Ponte de Lima and launch a hotel, wine tourism and green wine production project. It will have 87 rooms, outdoor swimming pools for adults and children, Satsanga Spa & Wellness, an events room for 600 people, two restaurants, a library, a chapel and a museum space dedicated to the history of the place, as well as a winery and vineyard.
  • Vila Galé Houses of Elvas (Portugal), also the result of the rehabilitation of the historical heritage, specifically the houses of an old factory and the buildings of the ecclesiastical cistern and the war council. With an investment of 10 million euros, they will be transformed into a hotel with 43 rooms, a panoramic pool, restaurant/bar and event hall, whose opening is scheduled for April 2025.
  • Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto – Historic Family Resort hotel, Conference & Spa (Brazil): in Cachoeira do Campo, Minas Gerais, the chain will recover the historic space of the Dom Bosco School. The future establishment, which is also scheduled for completion in April 2025, will have 298 rooms, two restaurants, two bars, seven convention rooms, auditorium, chapel, library, games room, Satsanga Spa & Wellness with indoor heated pool, club NEP children’s playground with park pool, farm and educational garden, lake and slide and also vineyard and olive tree plantations. This project represents an investment of more than 22 million euros.
  • Vila Galé Collection Sunset Cumbuco (Brazil): in Ceará, where it already has the Vila Galé Cumbuco, another hotel of the brand is under construction with 124 rooms, three restaurants and bars, Satsanga Spa & Wellness, sports center, nautical center and NEP children’s club with pools and slides. With an estimated investment of 15 million euros, it will be located in Lagoa de Cauipe, a kitesurfing paradise, and on the beach that gives it its name.
