Hotels on the Costa Dorada organize the Work in Tourism day

The Hospitality and Tourism Business Federation of the province of Tarragona (FEHT) and the Reus Chamber of Commerce organize a new edition of the “Work in Tourism” Conference, in order to collect resumes and conduct personnel selection interviews.

Dates

He Tuesday February 20from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, nearly 40 companies in the tourism sector on the Costa Dorada will collect resumes and conduct personnel selection interviews during the day.

The Work in Tourism 2024 conference will be held in firaReus Events.

Employment exchange

The “Work in Tourism” conferences organized every year by the FEHT around this time have already become a reference for people interested in finding work for the tourist season.

The FEHT represents the 90% of the accommodation places in the province from Tarragona.

More of 1,500 people attended the last days organized last year.

This year, the Conference is organized jointly by the FEHT, the Reus Chamber of Commerce and has the collaboration of the Servei Públic d’Ocupació de Catalunya.

Tourism recovery after the pandemic

The number of overnight stays in tourist establishments on the Costa Daurada, province of Tarragona, was 4.7% below the figures for 2019, before the pandemic, at the end of the 2023 financial year. By tourist brands, the results were:

  • Golden Coast: 18.45 million overnight stays (-4.7% compared to 2019 and +3.9% compared to 2022)
  • Terres del Ebre: 1.49 million overnight stays (+20% growth compared to 2019 and +0.2% compared to last year).

The president of the FEHT, Berta Cabréhas stated that “one of the objectives for 2024 is to fully recover the British market. In fact, the flight forecasts at Reus Airport are optimistic.”
