Visasur Group buys a hotel from ADIA that AZZ Hoteles will operate

The Sevillian group Visasur has acquired one of the 17 hotel assets that were part of the Equity Inmuebles portfolio, acquired by the fund Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (A DAY). The Mérida Medea hotel, located in Badajoz, will no longer be operated by Meliá Hotels International and AZZ Hotels will take charge of its operation.

The operation has been carried out by the consulting firms Deloitte and Global Real Estatethe first advising the Petra group (which manages ADIA’s 24 hotels), and the second advising Visasur, with whom he had been working for several years to get the group to enter the Extremaduran market.

The hotel has 126 rooms, an outdoor pool, gym and six meeting rooms with capacity for 370 people. This 4 stars was part of the Equity Real Estate portfolio for which ADIA paid 600 million euros.

Before being acquired by the Visasur Group, the establishment operated under the name Hotel Mérida Medea Affiliated by Melia and in this new stage it will be renamed AZZ Mérida Medea.

The AZZ Hotels chain currently has five establishments: the AZZ Valencia Congress, together with AZZ Valencia Táctica in the Valencian town of Paterna; the AZZ Asturias Langrehotel in Langreo; the AZZ Peñafiel Las Claras, in the province of Valladolid; the AZZ Pamplona Norte hotel in Berrioplano and from now on the AZZ Mérida Medea in the Extremaduran capital.

Furthermore, it is developing two new hotels in the city of Sevillewhere it already has a tourist apartment building (AZZ Sevilla Torre de la Plata).
