Another pug died during a flight to Moscow

A dead pug was found in the luggage compartment of a plane at Sheremetyevo, they report Russian media with reference to the press service of Rospotrebnadzor. The dog was found on the Yakutsk-Moscow flight on May 4. When they opened the carrier, he no longer showed signs of life. The name of the airline on board of which the accident occurred was not reported.

Officials expressed condolences to the animal’s owners and sent its corpse for disposal. They said the cause of death is unknown.

The dog could have died due to the very fact of transportation in the luggage compartment of the plane. Pugs are a brachiocephalic breed. This means that they have a flattened snout. These dogs have difficulties with thermoregulation and easily overheat even in cool weather. One of the subscribers of the telegram channel “Roof of TurDom” reminded about the emotionality of such animals. “Pugs are kind of like hamsters – any knock makes them faint. Well, they are very sensitive for such transportation,” the reader noted.

In March, TourDom.ru wrote about the death of the dog Frank, he was also a pug. The owners took their pet with them on the flight St. Petersburg – Phuket. The owners believe the dog died due to hypothermia. Aeroflot did not agree with this version – the temperature in the luggage compartment where the animal was transported was +20 degrees.
