Another Russian presidential candidate is concerned about tourism

Entrepreneurs working in the field of domestic tourism must be provided with tax holidays for the next 5 years. The initiative is planning discuss with the government, Vice-Speaker of the State Duma and candidate for President of the Russian Federation from the New People party, Vladislav Davankov.

The contender for the post of head of state arrived in Sakhalin, where he met with representatives of the local tourism industry at one of the tourist centers. In particular, he noted that the tourism industry can provide potential growth of gross domestic product at the level of 5%. However, appropriate benefits must be provided for companies and entrepreneurs. For example, this could be a tax holiday for the next 5 years.

“Then business will be able to develop infrastructure faster. It is necessary to unlock the full potential of our Russian resorts,” explained Vladislav Davankov.

He also sees Sakhalin as a great tourism resource. But its development is hampered by the too high cost of air tickets. Subsidized flights are usually launched from Moscow, and such routes are not available to the regions. The candidate proposes to change this scheme.

“For example, flying from Chelyabinsk to Sakhalin is much more difficult. We will also discuss these issues with the Cabinet upon our return,” summed up the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma.

Let us note that last week another presidential candidate, the head of the Communists of Russia party, Sergei Malinkovich, discussed the topic of tourism. He demanded from the State Duma to introduce an additional tax of $100 on entry into the Russian Federation for foreign tourists from unfriendly countries. However, both the State Duma and the Federation Council immediately disowned his initiative. And readers of the telegram channel “Roof of TourDom” even thought that only Chinese citizens would come to Russia with this approach to tourism.
