Russians have increased interest in flying abroad in March

In March, the demand for air tickets abroad increased, their share in the structure of bookings increased by 19% compared to last year, reports Aviasales. According to the aggregator, Istanbul became the most popular foreign destination – it accounts for slightly more than 7% of all foreign bookings. Tourists go there for a week, and the flight costs approximately 32,580 rubles. There and back again.

Almost the same number of service clients traveling abroad plan to visit Baku and spend 9 days there. The average price of round-trip tickets is RUB 25,519. per passenger. In third place is Yerevan, where you can fly and return for about 24,550 rubles. In fourth place is Dubai with a round-trip air ticket costing RUB 55,030.

The reason for the increase in the popularity of foreign flights in March is not explained in the aggregator’s press release. It can be assumed that this is due to two reasons. On the one hand, thanks to the transfer of airliners to the Russian registry, the international route network is being restored – Russian airlines have begun to fly abroad more intensively. According to last year’s statistics presented at the NAIS air show in February, international passenger traffic from Russia increased by 28%. On the other hand, Russians themselves have less fear. If a year ago the demand for foreign travel was restrained by fear of a second wave of mobilization, now the influence of this factor has dulled. Anxiety index back to 2021 figures.

In addition, foreign carriers have become more active. Earlier, TourDom.ru wrote that two airlines were resuming flights to Egypt from Russia. From February 29, Air Cairo begins flying from Moscow to Hurghada, and from March 1 – to Sharm el-Sheikh. Red Sea Airlines is also going to continue flights from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh, interrupted in September last year.
