S7 will pay 30 thousand rubles for refusing to accommodate passengers in a hotel

S7 airline was fined for not providing passengers with a hotel during a long flight delay.

As the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office explained, the incident occurred in January of this year – then, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the plane could not fly from Novosibirsk to Kazan for a long time, several dozen people sat on their suitcases for about 21 hours. “At the same time, the air carrier, while waiting for the aircraft to take off, unreasonably refused to provide hotel services to passengers, which served as the basis for citizens to contact the prosecutor’s office,” the department noted.

As a result of the investigation, a proposal was made to the general director of S7 to eliminate the violation of the law. And the airline itself was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 of Art. 14.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (provision of services to the population that do not meet the requirements of regulatory legal acts establishing the procedure (rules) for the provision of services to the population, committed repeatedly) and was fined 30 thousand rubles.

Telegram channel subscribers “Roof of the TourDom” surprised by the size of the fine, they believe that the punishment for such violations should be more severe.

“This can ruin an airline, it’s a huge fine,” one reader ironically notes. And here are some more comments: “Now it’s clear why they’re not moving in. It’s cheaper to pay a fine,” “30 thousand is nothing for an airline, they just created extra work for the prosecutors.”

Earlier we wrote that S7 will pay 30 thousand rubles. for overbooking. The company was fined for “extra” tickets for flights to Makhachkala and Krasnoyarsk.
