Sochi Airport explained why Anfisa Chekhova was not allowed on the Aeroflot flight

The press service of Sochi Airport commented to the editors of Tourdom.ru on the situation with Anfisa Chekhova’s plane being late.

“As a result of an internal investigation, it was established that passenger Anfisa Chekhova and the woman accompanying her were heading to Moscow on Aeroflot flight SU 1153 on February 4. The scheduled departure time was 11:05, but in fact it was at 11:20,” the airport said.

Boarding for the flight began at 10:51. A minute later, at 10:52, a corresponding announcement was made over the loudspeaker, and the information on the scoreboard was also updated. All 180 passengers waiting for departure at gates 3 and 4, according to an airport spokesman, boarded by 10:55.

Late arrivals were additionally invited to board via speakers twice – at 10:56 and 11:00. Literally one minute after the second announcement, at 11:01, gates 3 and 4 were closed.

At the same moment (11:01) Anfisa Chekhova and another passenger had just left the VIP lounge. They arrived at the exits 3 minutes later, at 11:04. However, an airline employee refused to allow two passengers on board. As the Adler airport clarified, there were no other latecomers: this is confirmed by video camera recordings.

The main reason that the passengers did not make it to their flight was “a late response to the announcement,” the press service noted. The women left the hall only 9 minutes after the information appeared on the board and the announcement over the loudspeaker about the start of boarding.

The press service reminded that visitors to the business lounge can always ask the employee working in the room to notify them about the start of boarding their flight. To protect yourself from such situations, it is advisable to approach the gates 40 minutes before departure and wait for boarding there: “In addition, in the Federal Aviation Regulations (clause 90, Order No. 82 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated June 28, 2007) such an obligation is assigned to passengers ”

Subscribers Telegram channel “Roof of TurDoma” They doubted that in 4 minutes the airline employees boarded 180 people. However, the airport confirmed that this is quite possible: “It takes the agent 3-5 seconds to scan and check the boarding pass. Now they don’t even tear off the spine. In this case, passengers were allowed through two gates, so 4 minutes is realistic.”
