However, judging by the comment received by the editors of TourDom.ru, the international network does not agree with the ongoing rebranding. “Radisson Hotel Group, part of the Jin Jiang International Hotel Group, headquartered in Shanghai, has been informed that Mantera Group has become the new owner of the Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Centre,” said Violetta Romero, Managing Director of Radisson Hotel Group in Russia. de Torres. “Radisson Hotel Group looks forward to entering into a constructive dialogue with Mantera Group regarding the hotel’s refurbishment and continued operations under the Radisson Blu brand and will take all necessary steps to ensure Mantera Group’s full compliance with its contractual obligations.”

The fact that the Radisson group hopes to convince the new owners to return the international brand is also evidenced by notification on the website: “The hotel is temporarily closed for major renovations to ensure you have an even more enjoyable experience in the future. We will share the results with you in early 2025.”

Experts considered the new owner’s strategy correct. An important advantage of the international network was connection to the global reservation system, marketing promotion and loyalty program. “But today the value of these factors has practically been lost,” said Sergei Tolchin, general director of the tour operator Turplatform. “There is no access to loyalty programs, there is no traffic generation from the brand, and there are no bookings from the global system.”

He recalled that this is not the first time that Radisson hotels have undergone rebranding. In particular, last year several hotels of a subsidiary of AFK Sistema were transferred under their own Cosmos brand.

“It’s not easy to compare with an international brand, but in the Russian market Mantera can easily take its place in the premium class segment,” says Dmitry Bogdanov, Chairman of the Board of the AMOS Hoteliers Association.

Speaking about the reasons for the deal, experts note: the hotel was built a long time ago and requires renovation. “The previous owner, apparently soberly assessing the scale of the required investments, chose to leave the business. This coincided with the buyer’s desire to expand the hotel base,” says Dmitry Bogdanov. Mantera is interested in increasing supply in the premium segment and has its own management company.

“The new owner is preparing to open a 5* hotel with congress facilities in the same location. The Mantera Resort & Congress hotel, located nearby, will simultaneously offer a venue for events in the mid-price segment, as well as supplement the number of rooms,” added Sergey Tolchin.
