The swimming season has opened in Antalya, but so far only on weekends

It’s almost summer weather in Antalya, Turkey. There are many vacationers not only in the city, but also on the beach – as evidenced by subscribers of the telegram channel “Roof of TurDoma” publish photo. Some are already swimming, although the water for Turkey is not yet fresh milk, +19…+20 °C. “But it doesn’t burn anymore,” admits travel agent Maria Sheker, who lives in Antalya. “At this rate, by the May holidays the water will warm up 3 °C more than in previous years.” “The water is even somewhere around +22 °C. For us, residents of St. Petersburg, the temperature is quite comfortable,” says our subscriber Yulia. And here is another opinion from a thematic chat: “It’s already possible to swim – I’m still cool, but my husband is swimming.”

As residents of Antalya note, last winter was very warm, and now the weather is like in 2018, when temperature records were set. During the day in the shade +24 °C. In the coming days, according to weather forecasters, it will get colder, but not critically: by 1–2 °C. The other day, the thermometer reached 31 degrees. “Very hot. People swim in the sea overlooking the snow. We didn’t expect such weather,” the vacationers share.

There are especially many sunbathing and swimming people on weekends; mostly locals test the water. The first large flow of tourists is expected from April 6 to April 14 – during the holidays after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. These days, all hotels in Antalya will be filled with vacationers from Turkey, Iran and other Muslim countries. There are also enough Russians now.

The infrastructure in Antalya is almost ready to receive tourists. Sun loungers and umbrellas are already on the beaches rented by hotels. Work on public beaches is being completed. The finishing touches are being applied to Antalya’s longest beach, the 7 km long Konyaalti Beach. “By April 7, that is, by the holidays after Ramadan, everything should be ready, we’ll check,” says Maria Sheker.

Perhaps the only trouble is the jellyfish, the invasion of which is reported by subscribers of our Telegram channel. And they come across quite large ones, the size of an average pizza. “Be careful in the water, jellyfish appeared at an unusual time, earlier than usual,” warns one of the readers. Someone answers her that last year jellyfish were observed already in March, and someone jokes: “The main thing is to disperse everyone by June.”

Earlier we wrote that in April, a week-long vacation for Russian tourists at the five-star Crystal Centro hotel in the Kundu area under the ultra all-inclusive program will cost 125 thousand rubles. for two. And to relax in the less prestigious Jura Hotels Lara Resort 5* on the same dates costs 80 thousand. During the peak season, for a vacation in hotels you have to pay an average of 215 thousand and 170 thousand, respectively.
