Two airlines will immediately resume flights to Egypt from Moscow

From February 29, Air Cairo will resume direct flights from Moscow to Hurghada, and from March 1 – to Sharm el-Sheikh. This follows from the schedule on the Sheremetyevo Airport website.

In January, the Egyptian carrier suspended flights on routes from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Red Sea resorts. The Pegasus tour operator, which sent its tourists on these flights, transferred them onto the boards of Southwind Airlines, which flew to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh with an intermediate stop in Antalya. According to travel agents, the stop took about 50 minutes and did not cause any serious inconvenience to their clients.

Judging by the Pegasus website, from the end of February the tour operator will continue to transport tourists to Egypt on direct Air Cairo flights. In March, nine flights are planned from Sheremetyevo to Sharm el-Sheikh and six to Hurghada.

The airline will also resume its program from St. Petersburg, also in partnership with Pegasus. In March, three flights from Pulkovo to each of the two main resorts are announced.

Another Egyptian carrier, Red Sea Airlines, according to Sheremetyevo Airport, is also going to continue previously interrupted flights from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh. Flights are scheduled between 19 and 29 March.

However, which of the tour operators will be the customer of the program is still unclear. The Intourist company, which previously acted as a partner of Red Sea Airlines, told the editors of TourDom.ru that they do not plan to take blocks of seats on these flights.

The Egyptian airline suspended flights from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh in September last year due to the breakdown of one of its two operating aircraft. The tour operator Intourist took out its clients stuck in Egypt on AZUR air flights.
