What to expect from a 4* budget hotel in Turkey

A travel agent shared her impressions of a Turkish 4* all-inclusive hotel with the editors of TourDom.ru. She spent a weekend at the Club Marakesh Beach Hotel and noticed the pros and cons typical of the region’s economy hotels.

It’s a short drive from the airport to the hotel, less than an hour. First, about the pros: “Marakesh is on the first line. There are amazing mountains here, a wide beach with clean sand.” The rooms also deserve praise: “The rooms are decent, clean, and everything works. There are Russian TV channels, even TNT. The maids try hard and clean often. In general, the staff is pleasant, they ask how you are doing and if you need anything.”

There are a lot of sunbeds on the beach, and very few are occupied: “Apparently, in June the hotel occupancy is low, only 30–40%.”

There are two small swimming pools on the territory, one of them with slides. “I heard reviews that there is a good hammam and massage here, although I didn’t go myself.”

In the evenings, the animators hold a disco for teenagers, and talk to the children in Russian. “The hotel’s contingent is Russians, Ukrainians, and a few tourists from Poland, the Baltic states, and other European countries. The staff speaks several languages.”

If tourists lack food or anything else, there are shops nearby with what they need for recreation. You can also go to Antalya – the journey by minibus takes 15 minutes, the stop is very close, and the cost of the trip is 60 liras.

Now about the cons. An important drawback, typical for economy-level hotels, is modest food. “The oatmeal breakfasts here are great. For lunch and dinner, the buffet always includes soup and delicious sweets. But due to high prices, cooks save on meat – there is none, as well as fish. At the same time, they try to have chicken and soy cutlets,” shared the travel agent.

Another drawback common to hotels in Beldibi is the sea. Entry is difficult in some places due to large stones. In addition, the numerous pleasure yachts usually make the water cloudy after lunch. “For this reason, we did not swim from 12 to 18, only in the morning and evening.”

However, many guests were happy with their vacation: “I talked with tourists from Novosibirsk. They say that they received good sea and service for adequate money.” For accommodation for one night from June 1 to 2, the tourist paid 6 thousand rubles. for three (an adult and two children). A week-long tour departing from Moscow in mid-June will cost 127 thousand rubles. for two.

If tourists want to swim in the sea all day, we can recommend a hotel in another region. For example, UK Hotel Kiris 4*. “The option is approximately equal in price. But Kirish is a more prestigious area – the most expensive hotel on the coast, Mahx Royal Kemer, is located nearby. There are no yacht discharges here. But this option has other disadvantages: the territory is smaller, the rooms are more modest.”

Since May, Russia has become the first in the number of tourists in Antalya since the beginning of the year. More than 490 thousand vacationers from the Russian Federation came to the resort.
