Jorge Rey announces what no one wanted for Holy Week and Spain puts its hands on its head

The young meteorologist from Burgos analyzes the cabañuelas and reveals what awaits us this Holy Week. Spoiler: many will not like it.

This year Holy Week is brought forward and falls between March 24 and 31. It’s still early to make predictions, but Jorge Rey is based on cabañuelas to give us a forecast that many people will not like. In a live event held at the beginning of February that had more than 1,000 people, Rey announced what awaits us both during Easter and the rest of the year.

An unstable March

This Easter, (more) caution is needed due to wet roads.

Reliability of cabañuelas

Cabañuelas do not constitute a scientific method of climate prediction, so their reliability is limited; in fact, it appears that its accuracy is estimated at 60%. Now, since Jorge Rey was right about the arrival of Storm Filomena in Spain in January 2021, there are many people who are eagerly awaiting what this young man from Burgos predicts.

This Holy Week will be difficult.

And, facing April, a new surprise, since despite the existence of sayings like ‘April waters a thousand and all in one lamp’, Rey announces that, surprisingly, not much precipitation is expected, but some rain is expected. Ultimately, the only thing we can do is wait to discover if what Jorge Rey has announced for Holy Week and for which Spain is holding its head will be fulfilled according to the cabañuelas or, on this occasion, this traditional method has failed thanks to its margin of error.
