This couple acknowledges having visited the 195 countries recognized by the UN. This is his story.

A little over a month ago they returned from the Palace Republic (Oceania) and are already organizing more trips. For Mayte Galindo67 years old, and Enric Moreno69, traveling “is everything”. They have been doing it for more than 40 years and together have visited the 195 countries recognized by the UN. In reality, they have stepped on more, 204and have repeated 73. Among them, the India, where they have been 9 times. Apart from the passion for travel, they also share the passion for documenting.

From each trip they have a personal diary and guide in all detail. In fact, in their house, they have an entire room dedicated to their travels. Interestingly, their next stop is Majorca with Imserso, the only Balearic island that they are missing. But in March it will be Brittany.

In total, they have spent four years of their lives traveling and have taken more than 77,000 photographs. At first they traveled once a year, on vacation, but since they retired they have accelerated the pace. Six years ago they decided to reach the goal of visiting all the countries in the world and they have achieved it.

The couple met while studying engineering. Enric was already a travel lover and, in fact, at 18 years old He was one of the first users of the Interrail in 1972, when it was created. They both took their first trip together to London to celebrate the wedding and, since then, they have never stopped traveling together and they cannot imagine doing it without each other. During one stage, they also traveled with their children: Carla and Marti which, they explain, They have also inherited the passion for traveling. Since they became grandparents, they have also traveled with their grandchildren.

The ‘alma mater’ of travel, says Maite, is Enric. He is the one who organizes the entire trip and who is in charge of the logistics part. Maite, on the other hand, takes care of the sentimental part. From all the trips they have a personal diary where Maite details everything they have done on the trip. And when they return, Enric makes a photo album and a guide. They have everything documented and keep all the passports, 29 in total, some from the Franco era. In fact, in his house, in Manresa, they have a whole room dedicated to travel.

Friends all over the world

After traveling around the world, his closest destination is Majorca on an organized trip with Imserso, but after that They already have more trips in their sights.
