Considered one of the ten natural wonders of Europe, in the Alcornocales Natural Park Not only is there the largest cork oak forest in Spain, it also has another interesting surprise in the form of a tropical jungle. In this place, which is located between the municipal areas of Algeciras, Tarifa and Los Barrios, the favorable nature that there is 245 days of fog a year. What makes the Mist Forest route such a special journey has to do with the humidity concentration that occurs in this area, due to its geographical location between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, and next to the Strait of Gibraltar. This circumstance is what causes there to be fog almost every day of the yeargiving rise to a microclimate typical of tropical regions and jungle settings that seem straight out of a story.

How to get to the Forest of Mist

It is located less than two hours by car from Cádiz (120 kilometers), 23 kilometers from Algeciras, 25 kilometers from Tarifa and 32 kilometers from Los Barrios, on the N-340. As it is a specially protected area, to take this route you must request authorization, indicating the date of the visit and the number of people.
